Coates will discuss the complexities and scientific perspectives required of surveying and modeling the sagebrush habitat and sage-grouse populations.

The talk is part of the Fall 2012 lineup of the Ecology Colloquium Series, hosted by the CSUS Department of Biological Sciences, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California LCC, USGS California Water Science Center and USGS Western Ecological Research Center.
