USGS Western Ecological Research Center scientist Nate Stephenson is an invited speaker at the Society for Ecological Restoration's 4th World Conference on Ecological Restoration, August 21-25 in Merida, Mexico. 

Stephenson will speak on "The dilemma of protected areas management in an era of rapid global changes," reviewing how rapid anthropogenic environmental changes force a fundamental reassessment of current management policies for protected areas, and offering some possible ways forward.

Stephenson's talk is at Monday, August 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the Celestun room of the Hotel Fiesta Americana.
