In addition to the Western Ecological Research Center of the USGS/Biological
Resources Division, other sponsors of the symposium are the U.S. Department of
Energy, Research Center of Desert Research Institute, the University of
California Natural Reserve System, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and
Czarnowski Exhibit Service Specialists. The meeting was planned in cooperation
with the Desert Managers Group.
The Organizing Committee was made up of Jeff Lovich (chair),
Jim Andre, Hal Avery, Bill Boarman, Lesley DeFalco, Chuck Douglas, and Lynn
Fenstermaker. Others who helped get the symposium going include Kathy Longshore,
Claudia Luke, and Peter Stine. Lew Williams of EPA in Las Vegas joined our
organizing committee just before the meeting and his help was greatly appreciated.
