Research on Least Bell's Vireo to be Featured: The least Bell's vireo, a migratory songbird once critically endangered by the extensive loss of streamside habitat throughout California, may be making a comeback. USGS scientist Barbara Kus of the Western Ecological Research Center was interviewed for an article about least Bell's vireos for the January issue of California Wild, a quarterly magazine published by the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Kus is studying least Bell's vireos and their habitat on breeding grounds in southern California and wintering grounds in Mexico. (Barbara Kus, San Diego, CA, 619-594-4357)
