SUNDAY: Sea Otter Research at the SF Bay Area Science Festival!
FRIDAY NOV 04 2011

USGS participation at the first-ever Bay Area Science Festival concludes this Sunday, November 6, at the famous AT&T Park, home of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants!

USGS will have a total of nine exhibits at AT&T Park -- ranging from earthquake simulators to building 3-D models of Angel Island. USGS tables will be located on the Promenade Level, along the third base line (see ballpark map).

The USGS Western Ecological Research Center will be among the tables. I'll be there to answer your questions about the many research projects and study species WERC researchers are focusing on throughout California and Nevada.

A special guest this Sunday is Jessica Perry, a graduate student researcher from University of California-Santa Cruz who works with WERC lead scientist Tim Tinker and our California sea otter research team.

Jessica will be taking a break from field work to be at AT&T Park, where kids and teachers can ask her about her amazing experiences working with wild sea otters and studying their biology.

We'll also have games like "Be the Sea Otter Spotter" as well as a new series of kid's coloring sheets. You can download the new sheets here as well:
