Folks, remember that next week is National Park Week! From April 16 through April 21, our sister agency will be offering free admission to all national parks during this annual celebration of our natural resources.

Recently, the National Park Service also unveiled new web portals for each of the 50 states, as a more convenient way for all of us to explore all of the spectacular parks, monuments and historic places in our home state. You can check out the portals for California and Nevada here:

The U.S. Geological Survey works closely with the National Park Service to provide science support for park managers and superintendents. At the USGS Western Ecological Research Center, six of our 13 field stations co-located within national parks, including Redwood National Park and Point Reyes National Seashore.
