My interests are in the description and understanding of structural and functional characteristics of wetland habitats in California, in particular, and the Pacific states, in general. This requires integration of techniques across multiple scientific disciplines of wildlife, plant, and invertebrate ecology, limnology, and toxicology of environmental contaminants. This research combines observational and experimental approaches to complex field situations to answer questions of wetland ecology as they relate to natural resource management.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
  • Contaminants
  • Ecological implications of contaminants
  • Herpetology
  • Restoration ecology
  • Species/Population management
  • Telemetry (radio and/or satellite)
  • Threatened and endangered species
  • Wetland ecology
